The program
A program with state-level history.
In 2014, Hillgrove advanced to the GHSA AAAAAA State Championship final, finishing as State Runner-Up after a 29–11 season.
That season sits inside a longer story: classes arrive, athletes develop, and the standard of Hillgrove Softball is handed forward.

Development pathway
Four levels. One Softball community.
Hillgrove participates in Cobb County Metro Fastpitch with Silver and Gold teams, giving middle-school athletes a place to compete and build a relationship with the program before high school. From there the path continues into Junior Varsity and Varsity.

Building the foundation
Silver gives athletes an important place to build fundamentals, confidence, game experience and a connection to the larger Hillgrove Softball community.
02 · Metro Gold
Compete, develop, prepare
Gold gives developing athletes an environment for advanced competition, game strategy, communication, decision-making, resilience and team responsibility.
03 · Junior Varsity
Preparing for the next opportunity
JV athletes gain high-school game experience while continuing to develop skills, situational awareness, confidence, communication and an understanding of Varsity expectations.
04 · Varsity
The highest level of the Hillgrove pathway
Hillgrove Varsity Softball represents years of preparation and development. For 2026–27, the Hawks compete in GHSA Class 7A, Region 3 with Campbell, Harrison, Kennesaw Mountain, McEachern, North Atlanta and Pebblebrook.
Not every athlete follows the same route. These levels show the connected opportunities available across the Hillgrove Softball community.
Developing girls through sports
We are building softball players. We are also building strong young women.
Softball teaches far more than how to hit, pitch and field. It asks young women to communicate under pressure, trust teammates, recover from mistakes, accept coaching, lead, compete confidently and work for something that cannot be achieved alone.
Those lessons matter far beyond the Softball field.

Leadership and continuity
Developing players. Connecting generations.
Head Coach Laura Voyles has led the Hillgrove Softball program for more than a decade, caring for the fields and supported by a volunteer staff that works alongside her.
That continuity matters. Players graduate and new classes arrive, but the opportunity to learn, compete and become part of the Hillgrove community continues.

Hillgrove Softball is built across four levels — Metro Silver, Metro Gold, JV and Varsity — and keeping that program strong takes year-round support from families, volunteers and local businesses.
Right now, the most visible capital need in front of the Dugout Club is the replacement of the scoreboard panels serving the Baseball and Softball facilities. It is an important project, but it is only one part of what sponsor support makes possible throughout the season.
Scoreboard panels
The current scoreboard panels have reached the point where replacement is the next major facility investment for the Dugout Club. Because these systems are costly, sponsor support can make a meaningful, highly visible difference in helping move the project from planning to completion.
Field and facility upkeep
Fields, cages, dugouts and the equipment that keeps them safe, usable and ready for competition require continual care throughout the year.
Game and program equipment
Sponsor support helps provide the uniforms, game equipment, field equipment and operational resources needed across Metro Silver, Metro Gold, JV and Varsity Softball.
Keeping the program accessible
Fundraising, sponsorships and volunteer support help offset program costs for Hillgrove families and allow the Dugout Club to continue investing in the experience provided to players across every level.
What fundraising supports
Community support keeps the program running.
The Hillgrove Dugout Club is a 501(c)(3) that supports Hillgrove Baseball and Hillgrove Softball as two separate programs. Sponsorships, the Golf Tournament, the Pancake Breakfast, the Poker Tournament and direct gifts all go toward those programs.
Every level of Softball — Metro Silver, Metro Gold, JV and Varsity — sits inside the same community of families, sponsors and volunteers.
The Dugout Club publishes spending categories and totals only once the club has verified them against its records.
